Introduction

The Directorate General of Films and Publications (DFP) is an attached department of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting working since birth of Pakistan. It produces, preserves and distributes the current and archival documentaries and publications with rare record on Pakistan Movement, as a credible source of reference at home and abroad.

Besides publishing books, brochures, leaflets, the department also brings out periodical magazines including: Pakistan Pictorial in English, Mah-e-Nau and Pak Jamhuriat in Urdu, Abaseen in Pashto and Ulus in Balochi languages.
